Include keywords and terms used by the author and think, too, about how the source ideas are relevant to the argument(s) that you are presenting in your paper. Using only your notes, explain the original author’s main ideas to someone else. Then explain how those ideas support or conflict with your own argument.

Reflecting content is listening accurately to another person and reflecting the essence of the content of the communication to the other in your own words. In reflecting content, you focus on the content of what a speaker is saying to you, including thoughts, ideas, beliefs, facts, data, etc.
What is a reflection of content?
Reflection of content and feelings were skills identified by Rogers (1955, 1965) as being important in counselling. Reflection of content involves reflecting back the content of what the client has just said. Examples of reflection of feeling are ‘You’re feeling sad’ or ‘You feel sad’ or ‘You’re sad’.
